Meeting Area

King, you had a Great Uncle Bartholomew, but most everyone called him Bart.
He went to school with his owner’s son John, and that’s how he got so smart.

He could add, and subtract, and multiply better than most of the kids at school,
But when John told his Dad, his Dad really doubted, saying “Goats aren’t that smart, as a rule.”

John taught Bart to play a number of games, but he liked Checkers more than the rest.
Dad said, “I’ll bet that goat can’t beat me,” cause at Checkers, his Dad was the best.

Well, Bart beat Dad, and his brothers and cousins. He didn’t lose one game,
And it wasn’t long before Uncle Bart was starting to gain some fame.

As the word spread, everyone wanted to see this famed goat make his moves.
They said that he’d just lift his leg up, and move the checkers with his hooves.

It was getting real close to the end of the month - time to get all the supplies.
A Checkers contest was at Suttons Corner that week - a favorite time for the guys.

They decided to take Uncle Bart along to play Checkers with the rest,
But nobody had played against a goat in any kind of contest.

Well, they finally decided to let him play, and he beat them every one,
And that is how your Great Uncle Bart became the Checkers Grand Champion.
